How it works

From your current website to editing it yourself

What happens from the first call to the day your team publishes its first change.

Talk to us

Tell us about your organisation and your current site. We show you Clear CMS working on a site like yours.

We build or move your site

We move your pages, photos and menus across, or build a new site from a template in your colours and fonts.

Connect your domain

Point your web address at Clear CMS. The padlock certificate is set up automatically, and your site stays online throughout.

Invite your team and publish

Everyone gets their own login. Click, change, publish. That's it.

Day to day

What editing looks like

Desktop and phone

See every change on every screen

Many of your visitors are on a phone. Flip the preview to phone size at any moment and check that the new headline fits and the photo still looks right, before anyone else sees it.

Drafts and publishing

Work in a draft, publish with one button

Everything you change is saved as a draft as you go. Take your time, ask a colleague to have a look, then publish it all with one button. Visitors never see a half-finished page.

History

Every version kept, any one restored

Clear CMS keeps every saved version of every page, with the name of the person who made the change. Deleted something by accident? Restore it. Want last month's wording back? Restore that too. Restoring adds a new version, so nothing is ever lost.

Who it's for

Made for small teams and the people who help them

Non-profits and community groups

Staff and volunteers keep news, events and photos current without waiting on a developer. Multilingual when your community is.

Local businesses

Update services, prices, opening hours and project photos yourself, from your desk or your phone.

Agencies and freelancers

Build the site once, hand it over with confidence. Clients edit safely within your design, and each sees only their own site.

Questions people ask first

Do I need any technical skills?

No. If you can edit a document, you can edit your site. You click on the page and type; a "?" next to every setting explains what it does.

Can I break my site?

Not really. The design is set up for you; you change the words, photos and sections within it. And every version is kept, so any change can be undone.

What happens to my current website?

It stays online until the new one is ready. We move your content across, you check it, and only then is your domain switched over.

Can my web designer still work on it?

Yes. Developers build the sections and looks for your brand; your team fills them in. Agencies can look after many client sites from one sign-in.

What if I want to leave?

Export the whole site as a zip at any time. Your content is in open, readable files, so it goes wherever you go.

Put your website in your hands
